Biography
I’m a postdoctoral researcher with interdisciplinary interests spanning paleobiology, geochemistry, and Earth system modeling. My work focuses on identifying environmental stressors—particularly during, but not limited to, mass extinction events—and quantifying marine biotic responses using geochemical proxies and numerical models. I’m especially interested in how preservation biases in the fossil and geochemical records shape our interpretations, and how we can identify and correct for them. My primary expertise lies in the Devonian period, with a focus on microfossils. I’ve also contributed to advancing the use of laser ablation ICP-MS to measure elemental ratios (e.g., I/Ca) in modern corals as archives of local environmental change.
